Surfola Privacy Features

Surfola offers two levels of additional privacy to your surfing. The purpose of this document is to outline what protection you receive in the available modes.

No Privacy No additional measures taken
Anonymous Mode
Prevents sites you visit from tracking you
  • All pages and images loaded from your machine are routed through Surfola servers.
  • Sites you visit won't be able to identify your machine.
  • Remove information regarding the last site you visited.
  • Effective when used with all cookies disabled
  • Effective when used with all Javascript disabled
  • Because of the increased system load, points are earned slightly slower in Anonymous mode
Stealth Mode
Prevent others from viewing the sites you're visiting. This includes those with access to your computer or those who operate your network.

Your employer or your home Internet Service Provider (ISP) can easily track which sites you visit and even see the content of those pages. For example, this may not be desirable should you want to visit Monster.com from your office. We offer this additional level of privacy available to you.

  • All Anonymous Mode features
  • Titles removed from pages so that your browsers history does not show the titles of sites you've visited
  • All hyperlinks are encrypted and password protected so that only you can access local bookmarks or pages in your history
  • All pages and images are loaded through Surfola using 128-bit Encryption. The same encryption used to process credit card transactions. This prevents your ISP, network administrator, or your boss from intercepting traffic from your machine to Surfola. Traffic is not encrypted from Surfola to the site you're visiting, however, traffic coming from our site makes no reference to your computer ensuring your privacy.
  • This level of privacy will cause performance to be slightly slower due to the encryption of all pages.
  • Effective when used with Javascript disabled

Limitations
  • Anonymous and Stealth Mode are not completely effective with Javascript enabled. You should only enable Javascript when necessary. To be safe, enable Javascript for just the sites that require it and those that you trust.
  • Anonymous and Stealth Mode only work within your Browser when surfing through Surfola.com. If the Surfola.com Navigation Bar is not visible, then you are not using Surfola.com and you are not receiving Privacy Protection.
  • No privacy protection is provided for other applications. For example, Surfola.com does not work with your e-mail, telnet, or streaming audio players. Software packages exist to provide protection in these other applications. Contact us for more information.
  • Removing Javascript and enabling encryption may cause problems when viewing some sites. However, it is our goal to be compatible with all sites.
  • Finally, although we strive to provide complete privacy when these features are enabled there may be occasional problems or shortcomings in our Privacy Protection. We assure you that we will immediately respond to any problems as they're discoverd. However, for these reasons we can assume no liability for the free services we provide. Please see the Terms Of Service for more information.
